Ready to step up security levels with private stories only visible to a selected few? Let’s see how to make a CF list and share stories with your selected close friends to get the most out of it.

How Can You Create a CF List on Instagram?

Step 1: Open the Instagram App

To create a Close Friends list on Instagram, the first step is to open the Instagram app on your smartphone. This can be accomplished by tapping the Instagram icon from your device’s home screen or by locating it in its app drawer.

Once opened, you will be taken to the Homepage of the application, which contains all of your posts and activity.

Step 2: Press the “Profile” Icon

The next step is to press the “Profile” icon located at the bottom panel of the “Home” page. This button will bring you to your account’s profile page, where you will find all of your own posts and stories and any other information associated with your account, including settings and preferences.

Step 3: Tap the Hamburger Menu Button

Once you reach your profile page, you will need to tap on the hamburger menu button, which is located in the top right corner of the screen.

When pressed, this will cause a menu to pop up from below containing a variety of options that can be chosen from, such as Activity Log, Settings, and Privacy.

Step 4: Tap the “Close Friends” Option

From this menu, select “Close Friends,” which is an option allowing users to create a private group of people they send exclusive content, such as Stories and Live broadcasts.

After doing so, an additional window will appear containing an input field for searching for people who you wish to add to this list.

Step 5: Add Your Close Friends

When typing in names into this search field, relevant accounts matching those keywords should appear in a drop-down below it.

From here, simply select any accounts whose owners wish to add them to their Close Friends list and hit enter or click on their name entry itself again afterward for confirmation.

To finish this process, tap “Create List” at the bottom of the window, followed by selecting any necessary permissions that are required for sending stories or broadcasts exclusively restricted towards only those added within it afterward, if applicable.

Step 6: Tap the “Done” Button

Finally, after all of your settings have been adjusted and all desired friends have been added to your CFS list, tap the “Done” button.

This button is located in a small box on either side of your screen, depending upon device type and orientation, iOS or Android, ensuring that no unwanted changes are made while creating or editing this feature.

How to Create a CFS Instagram Story?

Step 1: Open Instagram App

To create a Close Friends Story (CFS) on Instagram, launch Instagram on your phone. This can easily be done by locating the Instagram app on your home screen and tapping it to launch the app.

Once you are in the app, you will be taken to your newsfeed, which can be navigated by swiping left or right. To start creating a CFS, tap the “+” icon at the upper right corner of the screen.

Step 2: Tap “+” Icon and Story Icon

Once you have tapped the “+” icon, a dropdown menu will appear with several options such as “Create Post,” from which you can create an image post and stories, or “Live Video,” where you can live stream with friends and followers.

To create a CFS, you need to select “Story” from this menu. Upon selecting this option, you’ll land on a page titled “Create a Story,” where all story-related activities are done, such as uploading images or videos, adding text or drawings, and adding audio clips.

Use the camera feature where you can record videos or take pictures directly into your story or add text and drawings.

When deciding which option best fits your story, ensure that whatever media files are used follow Instagram’s guidelines for stories so they are not to be removed from your profile.

After selecting an appropriate media type according to what type of message you would like to share (e.g., photos for memories), then click on it so that it appears in your story template.

Step 3: Press the “Close Friends” Button

Once finished editing and customizing your post content, press on the “Close Friends” button, which will be found below, before tapping the Share button at the bottom right corner near the camera button.

By doing so, only those people who are added to your Close Friends list on Instagram will be able to see this particular story post that has been shared exclusively for them.

After sharing it successfully, all those who have access to view it will receive a notification about it appearing in their feed instantly.

Keep Your Stories Private & Connect with Close Friends

With CFS, you can send content exclusively to a list of chosen friends. It’s as simple as creating a list.

Once set up, any stories posted will only be seen by those on the CFS list. That means no worrying about hundreds of uninvited eyes on your posts.

So if you want added security and control over who sees why not try out CFS? Get started today and create your own personalized circle of friends. If you still don’t understand how “CFS” works, you can of course always get help from Instagram themselves.
