Can You Easily Unfollow Everyone On TikTok At Once?

It’s possible to get sick of just about anything — including TikTok.

If you find yourself getting bored on the social media platform, your first impulse might be to delete your account. That could be a rash decision, though; you’d lose all of the TikTok videos you’ve created, any DMs you might want to refer back to, and possibly your TikTok username (if someone else wants to grab it).

A better option might be unfollowing all of the TikTok users you currently follow. That clears your timeline; you won’t be bombarded with all of the content that’s been clogging up your TikTok feed, and you won’t have to deal with all of the people who’ve become annoying over the time you’ve been on the app.

Unfollowing everyone could also make sense for content creators who are switching to a new topic or niche for their content, or for people who’ve changed from an individual TikTok account to a business one.

Makes sense. How do you do it?

Here’s the bad news: there’s no easy, reliable way to unfollow all the people you’ve been following. It’s a more complicated process.

How Do You Unfollow Everyone on TikTok?

Sadly, there’s no free and fast method.

It seems silly to call anything involving TikTok “old fashioned,” but that’s the approach you must take to unfollow people on the app. You have to do it manually, whether you’re following 20, 200, or 2,000 users. It doesn’t matter whether they’re friends, random content producers, or influencers, either.

You’ll have to head to your TikTok profile (by clicking the icon on the bottom right of your home screen) and tap on your displayed follower count to see a list of people you follow. Then, one by one, you must tap the “Following” button next to each user. It will change to a “Follow” button, indicating that you’re no longer following them.

Don’t do it yet, though. We have a warning to pass along first.

The TikTok algorithms are always looking for unnatural activity, and unfollowing a large number of TikTok accounts at one time can raise their suspicions. The unofficial limit is said to be 200 unfollows per day, and we’d advise staying a little below that number to be safe. Unfollowing too many people at once could trigger a shadowban, limiting your account’s visibility for 2-3 weeks.

Unfollow slowly, and you’ll have safely cleaned your account and paved the way for a new start on TikTok.

What About Services Claiming to Do Mass Unfollows?

Be careful there, too.

The websites promising to remove everyone you follow on TikTok immediately and safely aren’t always trustworthy, and they charge a lot for their services. There used to be many more of those services operating online, but many were found to have stolen customers’ data and they’ve since disappeared.

Several remain open, but your best bet is to delete accounts manually and slowly. There’s no harm in the process taking a few days or a week if you want to avoid shadowbans and get a fresh start on the app.

Spicy TikTok: It’s Probably Not What You Think

TikTok’s terms and conditions and Community Standards prohibit content that includes nudity (or implied nudity), sexually suggestive or explicit material, and non-consensual intimate imagery.
