How To Contact TikTok

In a perfect world, there would never be a need to contact customer support. We’ve all learned through experience, of course, that the world isn’t perfect — particularly when it comes to needing help with a product or service.

There’s good news and bad news about contacting TikTok: it’s pretty easy to submit a question or a request for help right on the social media platform, but at best, it can take a while to have questions and requests answered and resolved. To be fair, though, that describes contacting almost any company these days.

Here are the best ways to get in touch with TikTok support.

Contacting TikTok Online

You’re most likely to get a helpful response by reaching out to the TikTok support team through the app. The steps to take:

  1. Open your TikTok profile by clicking on the icon at the bottom right of your main feed.
  2. Click the menu icon (three horizontal bars) in the upper right of your profile page.
  3. Choose “Settings and privacy.”
  4. Scroll down and tap on the “Report a problem” link, which is almost at the bottom of the screen. (The “Support” link takes you to tutorials and information that might answer most questions from TikTok users, but ironically, it’s not the easiest way to reach the support team.)

You’ll see an “Account recovery” button at the top of the next screen, which opens a tool that usually lets you regain access to your account without needing help from the support team. The rest of the topics on the list take you to instructions on how to handle each issue on your own.

Don’t get discouraged, though. Most of those pages have an important link at the very bottom: “Need more help?” When you click that link, you’ll often be brought to a page where you can send a message to TikTok support. Be as thorough as you can in describing your problem, and sooner or later, you’ll get a message back in the app.

If that doesn’t get you the attention you need or you’re anxious to speak with someone immediately, scroll all the way to the bottom of the “Report a problem” screen and you’ll see a “Chat with us” button. You may get a chatbot at first, but be insistent that you need help and you should eventually be speaking to a live rep.

Contacting TikTok via Email

Getting TikTok help via email is a hit-or-miss proposition; you’ll probably get an answer, but it’s a slower way of solving a problem on the app. Nevertheless, here are the key email addresses you might need:

TikTok Won’t Let Me Make 10-Minute Videos. Why?
