How To Get TikTok Links

3 min read

TikTok may make it easier than any other social media platform to share videos with friends and followers.

When you come across a TikTok post that you enjoy, all you have to do is hit the “Share” icon (the curved right arrow) on the right-hand side of your feed. A pop-up window will offer you all sorts of options, letting you share it with individuals, with your fan base, or on a lot of other apps.

But what if you want the video’s actual link so you can forward it to people who aren’t on TikTok or post it somewhere else? For that matter, what if you want your own profile link so you can promote your TikTok account outside of the social platform?

You can’t just copy and paste the link from your browser if you’re on your phone, since there’s no URL bar on the TikTok app. A few clicks, though, and you can quickly find the link you need.

Getting the Link for a TikTok Video

Being unable to highlight and copy a TikTok post’s link on your phone isn’t a problem, since the app will copy it for you.

  1. Tap the curved arrow “Share” icon, found in the right-hand menu on your screen.
  2. On the pop-up that appears, scroll the middle row of icons until you get to the “More” option (it’s three dots in a circle).
  3. The next pop-up will have a large “Copy” option at the bottom. Click it, and a link to the video you want to share will be copied to your phone’s clipboard.
  4. When you’re ready to paste the link somewhere else on your phone, press and hold the area of your screen where you want to place the link until a small pop-up appears. Choose the “paste” option, and the link will appear in your text message, document, or whatever else you’re using to share the post URL.

Getting the Link for Your TikTok Profile

Widely sharing the link to your TikTok profile is one of the smartest approaches to growing your following on the app. Once again, though, you can’t just copy and paste the link on your phone the way you can on your laptop’s browser. Here’s what to do; the instructions are very similar to the ones we’ve just listed.

  1. Open your profile screen by tapping the “Profile” icon at the bottom right of your Home page.
  2. Right below your profile picture and follower count, there will either be a “Share profile” button or a Share icon (the right-hand arrow). Tap the button or icon.
  3. You’ll see several options on the next screen; tapping “Copy link” will load your profile URL to your phone’s clipboard, and hitting “Share link” will give you multiple options for sharing the profile link to other apps (as well as another “Copy link” icon).
  4. You can now paste the link wherever you’d like on your phone, just as described in the last section.

If you need to find a link to any other page on TikTok, the process is essentially the same. Just hit the “Share link” and you’ll be able to find a “Copy” link. Once you do it a few times, it will be just as natural and fast as copying a link from your computer’s browser.

Spicy TikTok: It’s Probably Not What You Think

TikTok’s terms and conditions and Community Standards prohibit content that includes nudity (or implied nudity), sexually suggestive or explicit material, and non-consensual intimate imagery.
