No matter how long you’ve been online, it’s never “normal” when you can’t log into one of your accounts.
What’s worse, it always happens at the worst times. You may have to pay a bill at the deadline, you may be waiting for an important email, or you may badly need to relax by scrolling your TikTok feed. Those are the occasions when you’re most likely to get an error message or have your login credentials rejected. It never fails.
No matter what app you’re trying to access, the possible causes are similar. Since we discuss TikTok on this blog, though, let’s look at the reasons you might not be able to get into your TikTok account.
Why Won’t TikTok Let Me Log In?
It’s possible that TikTok is having brief technical problems, but they’ll be resolved almost immediately.
Otherwise, the problem is on your end. We’ll start with the most common issue.
You’re Using the Wrong Credentials
You may have typed in the wrong TikTok username, email, or phone number; that does happen. More likely, you’re trying to use the wrong password. If that’s a possibility, use the “Forgot password?” link to reset it.
You may also have typed in the wrong credentials too many times. If you exceed the maximum number of attempts allowed, your account may be locked temporarily. Wait a while before trying again; the more times you enter the wrong information, the longer the lock on your account will last.
You Don’t Have a Good Internet Connection
You need a strong connection to log in or perform any other function on TikTok. Check to see if moving to a different part of the room or somewhere else closer to your router or modem improves your signal. You can also reboot them, switch to a different network, or use your mobile data instead of Wi-Fi.
You Have an App Problem
Your app may be locked up or outdated. Try restarting the app or your phone, uninstalling and reinstalling the app, or updating to the latest app version. You may also have used up all of your app’s temporary storage; find the app in your phone’s settings and clear the cache to free up space.
Your Account Has Been Deleted
You usually receive warnings before the ultimate penalty is assessed, but if you’ve violated TikTok’s Terms and Conditions in the past, your account may be suspended or deleted. If it is, you should see a prominent notice to that effect on your login page. You’ll have to contact TikTok support if you want to appeal.
Your Account Has Been Hacked
Here’s another unpleasant possibility. Account hacking is rare, but it does occur, and the first thing hackers will do is change your password so you can’t log in. Again, you’ll have to contact support to solve the problem and have your account reinstated.
Good luck getting back on the app!
