The Ins And Outs Of Withdrawing Money From TikTok

The majority of TikTok users might wonder what the title of this article is referring to. You don’t pay for a TikTok account, and there’s no fee to watch or produce videos on the social media platform, so what money could you possibly withdraw?

There are actually several ways that users can build a monetary balance on the app.

  • Content creators who host live streams are allowed to receive virtual “gifts” from viewers. The gifts are purchased with real money and can be redeemed for real money by the creators. They can offer monthly subscriptions to separate areas of their accounts that display exclusive content.
  • Influencers and many creators earn money through TikTok’s monetization programs, including the Creator Rewards Program, TikTok affiliate marketing, and operating TikTok shops. Those earnings are deposited into the user’s balance.
  • Those who run TikTok ads through the app have an “ad account.” They deposit funds into the account and pay for the ads from the accrued balance. Some funds may be left in their account after an ad campaign is over.

Money can also be spent on TikTok to purchase the coins used to buy gifts for Live hosts, and to buy goods in TikTok shops. This discussion won’t be useful for people making those purchases. You pay directly for TikTok coins, so there’s no balance left to withdraw; refunds from TikTok Shop purchases can’t be withdrawn as cash, but can only be used for other Shop purchases.

That narrows down the possibilities. Let’s see how TikTok earnings and ad balances can be turned into cash money.

How To Withdraw Money from TikTok Account Balances

Any creator who wants to turn a TikTok balance into cash has to meet several basic requirements. They have to link the account where the balance is held to a valid payment account, usually PayPal, an accepted debit card, or a bank account. They also have to satisfy a minimum withdrawal amount, usually $10, and they can’t withdraw more than $1,000 per day.

Once you’ve qualified to make a withdrawal, the next steps depend on where your balance is held.

  • Creators can access their TikTok account balance by going to their TikTok profile, opening the menu (three horizontal lines at the top right of the page), and choosing “Balance” from the popup.
  • Those who collect earnings from TikTok Shops must go to the TikTok Shop Seller app, click on “Finance,” and then tap on “Withdrawals.”
  • Advertisers should log into their TikTok Ads Manager, click on “Promotions,” and then tap on “Payment.”

Those actions will take you to the appropriate page to withdraw money from your balance. From there, just choose “Withdraw” or “Withdrawals” and follow the instructions. Payments to linked PayPal and debit accounts generally take place within 72 hours, but bank transfers may require as long as 15 days.

You’ve got your money — now, go earn more!
