TikTok Doesn’t Show My Favorites On A PC. What Can I Do?

In the 2010s, developers began designing social apps specifically for ease of use on smartphones. Instagram and Snapchat were among the first created with mobile users in mind, but most observers agree that TikTok has become the most advanced social media platform available for use on today’s modern phones.

That’s a decided advantage for the vast majority of people who walk around with their smartphones in their hands virtually 24 hours a day. There’s a drawback as well, though: apps designed primarily for use on phones may not function in the same way (or as well) as web-based platforms.

That means big issues for TikTok users who are accustomed to using the app on their phones but find themselves trying to access and use their TikTok accounts on their PCs or laptops. They won’t have much difficulty surfing their feeds — but they can find that many features they’ve come to rely on aren’t available when they access the TikTok website on their computer.

One function that has become second-nature for most users is bookmarking TikTok posts, allowing them to open their TikTok profile and easily watch their favorites at any time. Those searching for bookmarked TikTok videos on a PC (or on a Mac, for that matter) will find that the search is long and fruitless; favorites don’t appear on computers, only on smartphones.

Is there a way around the issue?

How To View TikTok Favorites on a PC

You’ll see some advice suggesting that you open the TikTok app on your phone to open any bookmarked video that you want to watch on your computer, copy the link, and send it via email or chat to your computer. That’s an inconvenient and convoluted way to get around the problem, to put it mildly.

There’s a much easier approach, and it works on Macs just as well as it does on PCs.

  1. Download and install an Android emulator on your computer. Most people say the BlueStacks emulator is the best choice for TikTok. (There is a BlueStacks App Player for Macs, too, although if you have an Apple Silicon Mac with a M1, M2, or M3 chip, you can download and run the TikTok app directly on your machine.)
  2. After installing BlueStacks, you’ll be sent to a homepage where you should look under the “Game Center” tab. Click on “Google Play Store” and install the TikTok app.
  3. Sign into TikTok on the BlueStacks emulator screen.
  4. If you go to your profile page, you’ll see your favorites available in your content grid.

Using an emulator instead of the TikTok website also gives you access to additional functions you otherwise won’t have available on your computer, like adding filters and effects to your videos, running TikTok Live streams, and buying from TikTok Shops.

Those who rely heavily on their laptops or desktops will find that accessing TikTok from an emulator will provide the experience they’ve come to expect from the app, and it’s a free, one-time download. Installing an Android emulator is well worth the few minutes it requires.
