Using Linktree To Put Multiple Links In Your TikTok Bio

TikTok is a terrific social media platform for being seen by large numbers of people, particularly younger ones. That makes it a good choice for those who want to direct visitors to websites they’re connected with or ones they’re promoting — as long as they stay within the app’s rules.

Unfortunately, you’re generally out of luck if you want to provide TikTok users with multiple links. Only one external link is allowed in a TikTok profile, it has to go in the bio, and the option is only available to users with at least 1,000 followers. (There’s no follower requirement if you have a verified personal account or a business TikTok account).

Is there any way around the restriction? Sort of, if you open a Linktree account.

What Is Linktree?

The problem of including multiple links in a social media bio isn’t limited to TikTok. Most apps only let users put one link in their profile.

An enterprising company developed a solution. The Linktree app lets you set up a page with all of your relevant links — so when you insert your unique Linktree URL into your TikTok profile, visitors who click on it will be taken to your “Link Tree” that displays as many links as you’d like. There are free and paid versions of Linktree, but the free one is fine for most users.

Linktree was created in 2016 and claims to have 50 million people using the app, which has become known as a “link in bio” tool. Quite a few competitors have emerged over the years, but “Linktree” is the generic trademark by which the “link in bio” apps are all known.

How to Add Linktree to TikTok

It takes just a few minutes to add a Linktree to your TikTok bio.

  1. If you don’t already have one, create a Linktree account at linktr.ee (there’s no .com at the end). You can then build a landing page that contains your selection of links.
  2. Copy the URL for your Linktree landing page.
  3. Open TikTok and visit your profile page by tapping the “Profile” icon at the bottom right of the home screen.
  4. Click the “Add bio” button in the middle of the screen if you haven’t created a bio yet. If you have, click “Edit profile” and scroll down the next page to find the “Bio” option.
  5. You’re now able to add or edit your TikTok bio. Paste the Linktree URL into the bio (along with any descriptive text you want to include) and tap “Save.” If you have a business account, paste the Linktree URL into the “Website” field instead.

That’s all there is to it. Your Linktree is now prominently displayed in your TikTok profile.
