It’s tempting to bookmark every great TikTok post you see in your feed. Perhaps, too tempting.
If you spend lots of time on the social media platform (and the average TikTok user is on the app nearly an hour per day), you’ll probably have lots of favorites saved to your TikTok profile. Before you know it, you’ve got hundreds or thousands of bookmarked TikTok posts. And even if they’re separated into collections, it quickly becomes impossible to find the one you want.
Sooner or later, you’ll want to delete some of them.
You might have other reasons for cleaning out your favorites. For example, your interests may have changed over time, and you have no desire to go back and watch TikTok content you’ve saved in the past. Or you may want to keep your bookmarked posts public, but you’ve saved some that you don’t want new visitors (like a new boss!) to know about.
Unfortunately, TikTok doesn’t provide an easy method for mass deleting favorites. If that’s your goal, you’ll have to unfavorite them individually or use a third-party app or Chrome extension that will handle the task for you.
Deleting bookmarked videos one by one, however, is simple and doesn’t take much time.
How to Delete Favorites on TikTok
Here we go. Just be aware: if you have lots of bookmarked content to remove, you’ll be giving your finger(s) a bit of a workout.
- Open your profile page by tapping the “Profile” icon at the bottom right of your home screen.
- Your content grid is in the middle of the page. Click on the “Favorites” icon (it looks like a bookmark or flag) in the horizontal row above the grid.
- You’ll see thumbnails of all the posts you’ve bookmarked. Tap on the one you want to remove from your favorites to open it full-screen.
- On the vertical right-hand menu, look for the bookmark icon. It’s yellow, because the post is in your favorites. Tap it once and it will turn white, indicating that it’s no longer saved in your TikTok account.
- Repeat the process for all other favorites you want to delete.
There’s no way to reverse the decision to delete a favorite — but if you’re able to find the post again, you can always hit the bookmark icon to save it again.
