You Want Another TikTok Account? Here’s How To Make One

There are now 2+ billion TikTok users. The world’s population is now more than eight billion. Does that mean that about 25% of everyone in the world, including children, babies, and senior citizens, has a TikTok presence?

Not quite. Statistics show that 27% of the global population who are online have a TikTok account, but only about two-thirds of the world’s total population is even on the Internet.

So, how does TikTok have so many users? It’s simple: many people have more than one account.

Why Would You Need More Than One Account?

Scammers and spammers love having multiple TikTok accounts. That allows them to run their disreputable operations more efficiently, and gives them fallbacks when some of their accounts are inevitably banned by the TikTok algorithms.

Most people and companies don’t fall into that category, though. They have more legitimate reasons.

  • They may want to “separate” the TikTok videos they create for friends and family from the ones they post for a different target audience. They may also be serving several TikTok content niches, too, each from a dedicated account.
  • They may want to create another account to showcase videos featuring their dog, cat, or another “member of the family.”
  • They may maintain different social media presences for their personal lives and the businesses they own.
  • They may be a social media marketing agency managing TikTok accounts for multiple clients.

Those are just some examples, and the social media platform has no problem with users owning more than one account.

TikTok doesn’t officially limit how many accounts you can have, but each must be associated with different email addresses (or phone numbers), you can only manage six accounts (recently increased from three) on the same device, and you face penalties or bans if the system finds that you’re trying to circumvent previous account bans or violate TikTok’s terms.

Want proof that you’re allowed to have a second account? You can create one right on the app.

How to Make Another TikTok Account

Remember, you have to use an email or phone number that’s different than the one you originally used to sign up for TikTok.Have it ready before you get started.

  1. Open your TikTok profile from your home screen by tapping the “Profile” icon at the bottom-right of the page.
  2. Tap on your TikTok username at the top of the screen.
  3. A pop-up window will appear with an option to “Add account.” (This is the same menu you’ll use when you want to switch accounts on the app.)
  4. You’ll see a sign-up screen; complete the process the same way you did to create your first account, using your new email or phone number.

It’s that simple. If you’re going to be managing a large number of TikTok accounts, many third-party apps make the process easier. For most users, though, a separate app isn’t necessary.
